Todd Martin Youth Leadership is looking for an individual with a background in tennis to become an instructor in our 2018 Summer Tennis and Leadership program in the City of Lansing. The focus of this program is to provide tennis instruction to a diverse group of students ages 6 – 18 while providing them with the tools necessary to be successful in school and community through leadership and life skills development.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Graduate or; at least 18 years of age or older
Must submit documentation which substantiates proof of age and/or diploma
Must be willing to acquire skills in tennis instruction, specifically teaching tennis progressions from the USTA for beginners to competitive tennis players at the high school level.

Todd Martin Youth Leadership needs volunteers year round in both tennis and tutoring. Please contact Executive Director Rebecca Johnson if you are interested in volunteering as a tutor or Tennis Program Director Sheila Tansey for tennis volunteer opportunities. Provide homework and tutoring help in core subjects for school age students.
Integrate life skills into each tutoring session.
Communicate and coordinate with Tutoring Coordinator about student progress, concerns, questions, and absences.
During pick up at end of tutoring session, communicate with parent regarding their student progress during tutoring session.
Follow lesson plans provided by Tennis Program Director.
Provide a safe environment for all participants, staff and volunteers by ensuring that all equipment is utilized for its intended purpose.
Familiarize oneself with the tennis progressions, including different ball types and racquet sizes.
Integrate life skills into each tennis session.
